About KoRo
KoRo Handels GmbH is a fast-growing company from Berlin that specializes in online shipping of shelf-stable foods. In the offer KoRo has mainly different nuts, nut purees, dried fruits, superfood powders and dietary supplements. KoRo sources the products from many different countries (third countries and Europe).
The challange
The product range of KoRo is very wide, so that many chapters in the customs tariff are covered - essentially the chapters of foodstuffs. In addition to the high complexity of the products, there is a not inconsiderable amount of new products per month. The manual effort of the customs tariff classification was high, also because it requires deep professional know-how and enough time for a correct customs tariff classification. Databases and the expertise of tariff experts were used as aids. This resulted in high costs, a high level of effort and yet a high level of errors remained.
